Who am I?
I was born January 14, 1998 here in Lindsay. My entire family is Hispanic, My mother Isabel is from Vista Hermosa, Michoacan, my father Irineo is from Veracruz. I have two older sisters, Angelica and Cynthia Hernandez. I have attended several schools during my childhood and beginning of my high school years, I attended Jefferson Elementary for first grade. My parents being highly religious decided that I should attend a Christian Academy called Sierra View Junior Academy where I would attend school with my older sisters. I spent my elementary years in the Academy, coming into my freshmen year I then transferred to Exeter High, so I could be once again with my older sisters. I spent upto two years in Exeter until my parents decided that it would be best to attend school here in Lindsay where i could start my Junior year and finish my high school education.
Along the way I had many obstacles, as a child I had always excelled in making new friends, but once I hit my teenage years I began to keep my distance away from others, as an obstacle I had to find a way to allow myself to make friends. I would have a lot of trouble with others when trust was involved, I would always doubt others on keeping their word from people who called themselves “friends” I learned to keep my expectations low when I would have to rely on others, although I never could figure out why I grew up like this I’ll never know. During my sophomore year in Exeter I met a classmate by the name Trinidad, he was the only person I actually trusted with everything, he would always give me advice or he would say several things about trust and one day he showed me a quote from E.M Forster, “One must be fond of people and trust them if one is not to make a mess of life.” Trinidad had allowed me to open my eyes and start to trust people. Now that I’m here in Lindsay I am starting to make more friends and allowing more people into my life.
When ever my parents ask me what it is that I want to do when I go off to college I tell them that “I don’t know” and that is true, growing up I had a lot of interest, when I was ten I wanted to be an Ornithologist, which was the study of Birds, birds had always fascinated me so I wanted to be a scientist, when I became a sophomore I grew quite fond of fiction writing, and began writing several stories. Then as a Junior I started looking into wanting to be either a Homicide Detective or to work for the CIA. But now as a Senior I think I want to go with being either a Homicide Detective or a CIA agent.
